Chot Reyes on TV5 veering away from doing entertainment shows: "A business decision that we have to make."

Ayon pa kay Chot, “The feedback we’ve got is very positive, both from [viewers]… siyempre, importante [rin] the reception also of our advertisers.

“We’ve gotten very positive feedback in terms of the audience. I guess it’s pretty clear, hindi naman namin tinatago, na we’re doing less and less of the general entertainment programs and focusing more on the properties that we have a chance to succeed and make money out of.

But I think it is a very big and growing market. Nakakagulat yung feedback.”

Aniya, “Yung news namin andiyan pa rin naman, we still have our news and public affairs programs.

“Yun lang, of course, some people are looking for the usual general entertainment programs, content it’s no longer now… what we are doing, the direction, but like what I’ve already explained to you before, we must make sure that we should continue to survive as a business, this is just a business decision that we have to make.”

Saad niya, “Because we are a TV network, we wanted to make sure that we are [on all platforms], we are launching www.espn.com. Like we said, we are transitioning from being a TV network all over—online, on-air, on-ground.”
