Cuenca, Dee boost Sun Life Cycle PH cast

A total of 1,200 cyclists joined the Kid’s ride, Short Ride and Long Ride of Sun Life Cycle PH. The riders cruised through Taguig, Makati, Manila and Pasay City.

“First of all, this is not a competition but it is a ride,” race director Neville Manaois told The Manila Times. “We want to create a safe atmosphere for all participants especially in the urban jungle. Well, there are no champions here. Everybody is considered a champion here.”

Jake Cuenca, a regular triathlon campaigner, and fellow Star Magic artists Enchong Dee and IƱigo Pascual take time out from their hectic shoot schedules to lead the Sun Life Cycle PH at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig tomorrow.

SunPiology founder Piolo Pascual and triathlete Matteo Guidicelli, along with Yong Muhajil, Janus del Prado, Sarah Carlos, Kisses Delavin, Ysabel Ortega and Tommy Esguerra are also seeing action in the non-competitive event put up by Sunrise Events, Inc.

To spice up the event, organizers will raffle off a brand-new 2019 Trek Marlin 5 bike among participants in the Kids Ride, Short Ride (20K) and Long Ride (40K) categories around Taguig, Makati, Manila and Pasay.

The event, also held to promote family bonding, will be launched at SEDA BGC Hotel today to be graced by three-time Tour de France green jersey winner Robbie McEwen and SEI founder Wilfred Uytengsu.

The 40km ride has lured over 600 riders while the 20km and kids categories have drawn 392 and 100 participants, respectively. Gun start for the 40km ride is at 6 a.m. to be followed by the 20km ride at 6:20 a.m. and the kids ride at 8:30 a.m. Also on tap are the tricycle rides for kids at 9:45 a.m.
